Still Fighting
The film puts a face on the transgender community and really makes me wonder how anyone could be denied basic rights. Please keep up the fight till you have won.
amazing
Wow. This video is really wonderful. Thank you for telling this history. I've had a few friends over the years who are transgender and it's really painful to see all the struggles they go through due to not having laws to protect against discrimination.
This is the kind of story that needs to be seen!
"You all just wait and we’ll be right with you."
The last speaker’s voice resonates here in Maryland:
“It got morphed into this gay and lesbian thing that was like a snowball going downhill, next thing we know it’s messing us up and throwing us to the side…. They told us ‘Oh don’t worry we’re going to include you all just wait and we’ll be right with you.’”
Here in Maryland the LGBT lobby represented by Equality Maryland has sponsored a bill that would exclude us in the area of public accommodations. The bill formerly passed to protect gays and lesbians did not have that exclusion. We are hearing the same Mantra from Equality Maryland that the last speaker said so well – “Don’t worry, we’ll be right with you.”
Support Transgender Rights
Let's do the right thing and support Transgender rights. Transgender people aren't second class citizens we have the right to work, to live, to love, to exist. And yes, we are your neighbors.
