Speaking Frankly: 8th grade girls respond to Anne Frank's Diary
Springside is an all girls school located in Philadelphia, PA. The 8th grade read Anne Frank's diary. Each of the girls selected a passage that resonated with her. In response to the quotation each girl recorded her thoughts about the way that she connected with what Anne had written. Sometimes this applied to circumstances they had in common; mostly, though, the class reflected on the complexities of Anne's emotional and intellectual life.
After each quotation from the diary, girls discuss the way that they connect to the passage they chose.
