For my 95 year old mom
My 95 year old mom always wanted some of her collected antiques to be on the 'Antiques Roadshow'. She died a few months ago not having realized this dream. In her stead, I am showing you some of her most treasured objects including Sevres compotes and a Hester Bateman silver pitcher (with an HB mark on the bottom). Also, I am wearing a 19th c. Turkish caftan encrusted with gold thread that I purchased in an Istanbul bazaar in the 1970's. Mom always thought it belonged in a museum. This submission is for my mom.

Such beautiful pieces; the caftan is spectacular.

A wonderful glimpse at a fascinating and diverse collection of antiques. It would be a real treat to learn in detail more about any/all of the items.
And, obviously, a wonderful way to keep Bea with us.

What a wonderful tribute to a lovely woman! The video focusing on Bea's treasures was a bit of a visit with her. Nice to remember her in this way! Bravo!

The robe looks north African. I saw a wedding procession in Marrakech, Morocco and there were similar patterns on the womens' dresses--although these were not spun with gold thread. One woman knew of such embroidery--spun gold thread woven with silk thread for stability--but could not tell me how the gold would have been spun thin enough to be threaded.
