Henry Adams Chair
Average: 4.3 (3 votes)

This describes my antique chair which has been passed down to me through 11 generations of my (Adama) family. I am Aina Jo Olsen Barnwell, the daughter of Frances Adams Olsen. The chair, which I inherited from my mother, is said by my family to have belonged to Henry Adams, the original Adams immigrant in our family to America. He was a Puritan, and immigrated in 1638 to Massachusetts. He was quite prolific, and five Presidents are counted as his direct descendants: John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Calvin Coolidge, Millard Fillmore, and William Howard Taft, as well as patriot Sam Adams.

The chair is not a protected antique, and it has been in continuous use for near 400 years. It has be "renovated" many times. It was my chair in my bedroom when I was a child.
